  • The Armadillo Oven

    When client Armor Powder Coatings initiated operations on their newest oven, they went big. Really big.

    The result is the Armadillo Oven, a curing oven so large that it can handle nearly any powder coating job, no matter the size. Parts previously too large to be powder coated can now get the full treatment. The oven was such a “big deal” that they had Absolute brand it – hence, the Armadillo Oven. The logo treatment evokes one of nature’s toughest animals, the armadillo. Known to live in hot climates, the armadillo has one of the toughest exteriors in the animal kingdom, just like Armor Powder Coatings gives metal a tough, resistant coating with their Armadillo Oven.

  • The Coffee Clinic

    There are many among us at Absolute who believe coffee does make the world go ’round. Our client Wellmont Health System and its employees are also coffee lovers, and as such, installed a coffee bar at its Bristol Regional Medical Center location. They relied on Absolute to brand the endeavor. The Coffee Clinic is a clever take on the coffee stand’s location within a hospital environment and its importance as a “healing beverage” to all of us coffee junkies.

    Thunder Valley – Bristol Dragway is one of the nation’s most storied racing facilities. Home to the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals held annually on Father’s Day weekend, Thunder Valley is the drag racing capital set in the hills of East Tennessee. Absolute was tasked with creating an overall communications and marketing strategy that celebrated yesterday’s legends of racing while promoting the excitement of tomorrow’s stars. Thunder Valley is a sensory explosion – it is loud, exciting and fast! Our collateral, advertisements and digital work all reflected the passion fans and racers have for the sport, and instilled high energy branding to raise attendance and digital activity.

    UDG, the United Distribution Group knows industrial distribution. Supplying and servicing clients in a wide variety of industries is what they do best, as they are one of the largest industrial supplies distributors in the country. When it was time to consolidate their marketing, UDG sought an agency of record that could handle the demands of their industry, understand their markets, and work with all their brands as a partner for both B2B and B2C communications. From branding, digital and print collateral to promotional items and advertising, Absolute carries a full load with UDG – a long-term client with big industry muscle.

    The Unicoi Chamber of Commerce had a big idea, and they came to us for help. How can we promote all the natural resources that Unicoi County has to offer in a new and exciting way?

    A triathlon! Not just any triathlon, one that would first send racers rafting through the whitewaters of the Nolichucky River, then heading to a mountain obstacle course before having runners trek the Appalachian Trial, and finishing on a ropes course. Wow! Absolute was up to the task of branding the event. This is truly a one-of-a-kind triathlon!

  • Organization of Watauga Libraries

    When all the regional libraries in the Tri-Cities, Tennessee area came together to connect each stand alone library with an online catalog of books, papers and other media, they came to Absolute to create the brand concept. The Organization of Watauga Libraries, or OWL, features a simple and memorable owl-like logo meant to symbolize the wise owl as an interested reader, with eyes wide open to capture all there is to see.

    Johnson City Source Book

    The Johnson City Chamber of Commerce is a long-term client of Absolute and they required a new way to connect Chamber membership and the public with local businesses. This publication and accompanying website are designed to serve as helpful resources for newcomers to the Johnson City, Tennessee community and also a networking and connecting tool for businesses, encouraging them to interact with each other when doing business.

    Rugged Rax came to Absolute Communications with a concept: they created the perfect rack system for the utility vehicles popular with farmers, hunters, landscapers, emergency personnel and others.  We identified their brand differentiators and created a brand design that was just as tough as the product it promoted. A full court press, we built the logo and digital/print presences for Rugged Rax .

  • City of Kingsport

    The City of Kingsport approached Absolute with the challenge of creating an updated city logo that would utilize elements from past logos to maintain legacy and consistency while reflecting the unique environment of the Tennessee mountain city and utilize the city’s original planned layout in the logo design.

    The bold points in the sunburst / arc reference Church Circle, a focal point of the planned city where radial streets (Sullivan Street / Holston Street / Broad Street / Watauga Street) emanate from the original John Nolen city plan. Within the sunburst, there are seventeen smaller points that reference the founding of the City of Kingsport in 1917. Bays Mountain’s silhouette showcases the environment within the logo, and the use of the sun, mountains, colors and Trajan typeface have all appeared in some form in previous logos.

    The Unicoi County Chamber of Commerce, a long time client, combines wonders of natural beauty of mountain Tennessee with intriguing stories of history and culture. In its newest website design, Absolute Communications sought to combine the flavor of Unicoi’s elegant small towns’ bustle with sidewalk shops and eateries, with the astonishing beauty of nature’s true marvels. The easy to use site features picturesque scenery, and embraces the county’s local culture and spirit-lifting wonder that only exists in “The Valley Beautiful.”

  • Downtown Kingsport Association

    Downtown Kingsport Assosciation

    The Downtown Kingsport Association is a private, non-profit membership organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown Kingsport, Tennessee. They came to Absolute seeking a new brand identifier that incorporated the “Eat, Drink, Live, Work” message they wished to communicate to potential residents, downtown businesses and the community at large.

    DKA needed a logo concept that utilized the iconic elements of downtown Kingsport (Train Station and Church Circle) while also reflecting the diversity, vibrancy, and creativity of the area with the focus on bright color.
